Crystal Palace Invitational Tournament 2012

U8'S
The experience for the boys was fantastic with players from all teams showing superb technical ability already at such a young age. The highlight was a match against Leatherhead which finished in a 1-1 draw, with a 20 yard screamer from Jamie Redknapp's son being the leveller. The squad for the Tournament was - Alfie Mitchell, Joe Jonas, Joe Hunt, Joey Vance, Jack Wadman, Danny Jones & Joe Dixon.

U9'S
The U9's were made up of boys from the St Paul's & Portslade Centre's. The team consisted of Roonie Ramshaw, Jacob Wheeler, Shay Leahy, Joe Marchant, Joshua Paine, Morgan Standing, Ed Turns.The boys played fantastic football and again came up against a professional footballers son, Scott Parker's son playing for Leatherhead FC. Most of the boys play together at St Paul's and this showed as they all played superb football and again finished in a respectable position against very good opposition.

U10'S
Lacking a goalkeeper, Jacob Wheeler offered to step up and play in goal for the U10's, certainly not a preferred position of his! The team consisted of Jacob Wheeler, Max Martin, Ross Evans, Finn McDermott, Regan Hill, Joshua Stockdale & Cameron Hogg. Samuel Smith, a Pro Direct Soccer Academy Elite Member, won the much desired player of the tournament award whilst playing for Forest Youth FC. Hopefully Crystal Palace will act on that an offer Samuel a chance on trial, we will wait and see.

U11'S
We had high hopes entering this age group knowing the fantastic technical ability each boy possessed, we were not let down. The team consisted of Jake Linssen, Taylor Wiggins, Henry Daramola - Martin, John Shouler, Elliot Bennett, Chad Mitchell-Turner & Joshua Baker. The boys fired straight from the first game snatching a 1-0 win against tough opposition, Taylor Wiggins riffling home from 20 yards. The boys continued this momentum and only lost one game, with us failing to convert one of 20 + chances and seeing the other team score of one of 2 shots..Just the way it goes. But the results came in at the end and the boys of The Pro Direct Soccer Academy won the tournament.

Holiday Clubs

Our special February Half term Challenge saw boys and girls enjoying the Ronaldo Speed Challenge, with the approaching Easter Holiday Camps providing us with the Rooney Challenge . Participants for all holiday camps in Sussex receive a free Pro-Direct Training Tee Shirt worth £12.99.

Ronaldo Challenge Day (February Half Term) Winners were Regan Hill at BHASVIC , Ryan Chilton and Owen Benfell at St Paul's and Aiden Colclough and Callum Farrington at Buckingham. Billy Knight was our Penalty champion....well done to all who took part!

Academy Player Profiles

Maddie Judge
Maddie Judge is an extremely talented young lady who has been part of our Elite programme for some years. Maddie has recently trialed at Arsenal and plays for KPR U'11 Girls. Anthony Guiney, Pro Direct Soccer Academy's Senior Coach, spoke of Maddie's progress today...." Maddie shows fantastic technical ability and is always keen to learn new techniques and skills which she then demonstrates whilst playing for her team. Her attitude and willingness to learn is outstanding and she is a pleasure to coach "….Go Maddie!

Omari Hutchinson
SURREY NEWS: Congratulations to Omari Hutchinson who has been offered a contract at Crystal Palace and is also training with Charlton Athletics Elite Pre Academy. Omari joined the Pro Direct Soccer Elite Academy in January this year and is coached by Paul Sears, Director of Surrey. Omari was lucky enough to meet the Chelsea pros recently whilst training. Keep up the good work, Omari!

Dyka Sudaykra
Dyka is a talented, promising young player who has come to the UK from Indonesia to be part of our Elite Programme. Dyka has won a sports scholarship to attend a school in Surrey and is settling in well and enjoying his training with our Elite Academy.

adidas Official Match Ball Carrier Competition

Congratulations to Rylan Lock and Daniel Wright who both entered and won the adidas Official Match Ball Carrier competitions with www.prodirectsoccer.com. The lads have had a great time presenting the ball to the officials at the Arsenal v AC Milan and Chelsea v Napoli UEFA Champions League matches! Sussex Academy Goes On Tour

Elite Academy players will be travelling to Barcelona in May 2012 to take part in the Barcelona Football Festival. Del Tobias, Sussex Academy Director, says " We are delighted to announce this very special tour to Barcelona and we are looking forward to playing teams from all over Europe ".

Alan Weeks is appointed Head Coach (Plymouth)

Pro Direct Soccer Academy Devon has just appointed Alan Weeks as Head Coach of Plymouth. John Terry & Wayne Rooney under the microscope

The Skills of John Terry and Wayne Rooney came under the microscope during Pro Direct Soccer Academy’s two day clinic at Torquay Community college. After studying a PowerPoint presentation and video footage on both players. The players attending the clinic were taken out on to the 3G astro turf and coached the skills that make John Terry and Wayne Rooney two of the best players in their positions in the world.

Strikers Zone – 2 Day Clinic winner scoops signed shirt

Adam Walton whom attended Pro Direct Soccer Academy’s Skills School and Strikers zone two day clinic, was named player of the course and received a signed Bolton Wanderers shirt which was donated by Sam Ricketts, Bolton Wanderers FC and Wales International footballer.

Surrey player is signed by Aldershot

Our Summer Camps proved popular this year with themed fun days and games. We also held a weeks course for our Elite player focusing on pre season training to get back in shape for the new season. Our October Half term holiday details can be found at our “ Courses” section of this website. Participants will receive a free Pro Direct Soccer Academy T shirt. Our Elite members can now buy their elite academy kits online with the new elite crest proving very popular.

We would like to offer our congratulations to Daniel Lorente who has been signed by Aldershot this summer. Daniel has been with us for many years and this is what Mum had to say...........”Paul's weekly training brought Daniel to the next level, and we are so thankful. It was Daniel's goal to try to reach this level and with all the coaching and support he has made it - and now has to work harder to keep it. Dani really looks up to Paul, he is such a great coach.”

The Academy helps players in Swaziland

We were delighted to be able to help Tim Williamson, Dad of Patrick and Matthew, take the Pro Direct Soccer Academy Programme to Swaziland in August. Here is a little of what Tim told us about the trip...“First of all we have set up a couple of football skills sessions a week in the NCP (pre-school care point where we are working with orphaned, neglected or vulnerable children 2-6 years old) with the equipment you kindly donated. The bibs, balls and cones are fantastic and Matthew and Patrick lead these sessions. We have also sent some balls to a new programme opening up in Mozambique. It's all a bit chaotic but then many of these kids don't speak much English and haven't kicked a ball in their lives. We have also found a very deserving team for the adult kit you kindly gave us. The guy who runs the team (Bobo) is also one of the head coaches of the best senior team here in Swaziland - The Manzini Sundowners - and he has just set up an U13, U15 and U20 team in a very deprived community. He's a really great guy who is not just doing it to cream off the talent for his senior team. He is genuinely interested in keeping the boys out of trouble and away from HIV - he even makes them all show him their school reports and makes them attend church! Up to now they had no kit or equipment apart from what has kindly been donated by you and the Seagulls. “

Under 9s and 10s play Arsenal Soccer Schools

The Pro Direct Soccer Academy's under 9s and 10s have just played against Arsenal Soccer Schools Advanced Training centre and West Bromich Albion Development Centre in a friendly tournament in Taunton on the last weekend in April.

Pro Direct Soccer Academy UK Director Stuart Monk said “This was a great experience for our players and an opportunity to showcase their skills against Premiership Development Centres and Soccer Schools. Both of our teams played very well which resulted in both teams only losing one match each in a round robin tournament where all the teams played each other three times.”

Four players at Pro Direct Soccer Academy Devon have been offered contracts at Torquay United Centre Of Excellence for next season. James Colcough, Lennie Pegg, Cody Monk and Joshua Atkinson.

Players selected by FA for UEFA Pro License Coaching

Berkshire 16-18 programmes - Ashley Artwell, Lewis Atherly, Nathan Bovell, Mitchell Parker have all trialled for Brentford. Tom Collins has been offered a Pro Contract at Stevenage. The16-18 year olds at JMA have been selected by The FA to take part in UEFA Pro Licence Coaching again - last year they were coached by Gianfranco Zola, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Brian McDermott....Director Tristan Lewis passed his A licence. The Berkshire Academy is still running Wednesdays at Altwood School in Maidenhead 5.30pm till 6.30pm.
